The MASCC is dedicated to promoting community sports and recreation and to encourage and support Midland as a site for local, state, regional and national sporting events, thus enhancing the general economic welfare and commerce of the County of Midland, City of Midland and the surrounding area. Founded in 1989, the MASCC has continued to grow as an organization and continues to provide student athlete scholarships, monthly sports luncheons and maintains and operates the Midland County Sports Hall of Fame located at Dow Diamond.
The Midland Amateur Sports Capital Committee is excited to provide amateur sporting clubs and organizations and opportunity to apply for grants in the amount of up to $1,000 for sporting events that fill one or more of the following purposes:
· The event promotes community sports and encourages Midland as a site for local, state, regional, national and international sporting events
· The event enhances the general economic welfare and commerce of Midland City and County
· The event is held in Midland County
The MASCC will consider funding non-profit organizations that use grant money to fund projects; the grants are not intended to fund day-to-day operation or programs.
The Grants Committee of the MASCC will review all grant applications and will respond to all applications. The deadline for submitting the completed application and supporting documentation is April 15 and October 15 annually. Grant recipients will be notified within 30 days of their submission. Recipients will be required to update the MASCC on the success of the project for which the grant was used. The decision to fund an organization’s project will be determined in part by whether one or more of the following guidelines are met.
